JULY 2006 -

Happy Birthday America!

MAY 2006 -

This is Jules. She wins the prize for being the farthest customer from home. If I saw her driving her red Jeep in Guam, I am thinking that it wouldn't really take a set of tusks to get my attention.

We haven't decided what the prize is yet, but I'm sure we'll think of something...

JUNE 2005 -

Welcome all you cruiserheads out there with FJ-40s. One of your buddies figured out that the off-the shelf Jeep kits fits the flat C-rail bumer of the older Toyota Landcruisers with no adapters necessary... NICE!

Looking forward to a few Toyotas in the gallery now.

MAY 2005 -

We're off to Mexico for a week to do some much needed scuba diving! We'll check back with you after the sixth of June. Please pardon us if we don't answer any e-mail during that time ;-)

APRIL 2005 -

We recently acquired a large hydraulic press. This will allow us to pursue certain product designs in-house where we were totally reliant on outside vendors before. We are preparing tooling now for the YJ headlight enhancements.

FEBRUARY 2005 -

Great News! As you may know, we were preparing to offer an inexpensive snorkel kit for YJ Wranglers. This project was put on hold because our test vehicle developed a mysterious fuel injection problem around the time that the prototype snorkel was installed. Until we were sure it wasn't somehow linked to the snorkel, we couldn't in good conscience offer it to you. Turns out that the problem was in the primary ECU and had nothing to do with the snorkel. Thus we plan to get that project moving forward again.

JANUARY 2005 -
As you can see we have finally gotten our new Web site up. This new year will hopefully see lots of new developments that have been left unattended for too long!

DECEMBER 2004 -

Uncle Lowell
July 1934 - December 2004

The Primal Effects team mourns the loss of Lowell Lanier, a dear family member, master fabricator and an inspiration to the engineer in us all.

Born in Savannah, Ga., he was an Eagle Scout, a graduate of Clemson University, and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He passed on quietly at Cooks Mountain Hunt Club in South Carolina doing what he loved and surrounded by the great outdoors. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

OCTOBER 2004 -

Primal Effects attended the annual Jeeptoberfest event in Ocala, Florida. The event is a Jeep-only show-n-shine and performance run all in one. Attendance was outstanding with a few hundred rigs from around the country participating in rock crawling competitions, ramp events and judging of vehicles in a number of categories.

Not only was it our first official show to promote the products, we also got to play around in the car crush event for charity. Proceeds benefitted Paws with a Cause, an organization that trains dogs to assist the handicapped. As you can see from the photo to the left, my dog Jessie and I had a great time!

Welcome to hurricane alley! Holy cow, four direct hits to the Sunshine State and I have used my winch to move more trees than I ever thought possible. My daughter's school had a pair of massive oaks fall through the roof, so Primal Effects was there to help in recovery operations.

Thanks to dual Optima Yellow-top batteries, a Mean Green alternator and a 10,000 watt onboard power inverter, we didn't really have to suffer too much from power outages.

The sick part was that local law enforcement actually denied me access to an area where a co-worker needed help. The reason? Deep standing water was stalling cars. Officer, you have got to be kidding me, right? Not sure if he noticed the lift, the snorkel, the vertical exhaust stack or the crazed look on my face, but apparently my fording capabilities were lost on him.

AUGUST 2004 -
At long last, we finally have a product for the Hummer H2. Primal Effects is proud to introduce its solid aluminum tusk front-end effects specifically designed to mount on the optional factory brush guard of the H2. Check it out!

JUNE 2004 -

Big thanks to Herculiner® for becoming our first corporate sponsor. They have a great product for you Jeep folks that are thinking of some type of interior floor coating but have been sticker-shocked by the cost of a professionally applied liner.

Check out Herculiner's line of do-it-yourself coatings. I have done two Jeeps now and it only takes a couple of hours or so, costs about $150 and is extremely durable. They also now have four colors to choose from. You can find a link to Herculiner here.

MARCH 2004 -
Okay, so we have had a bit of a setback in the snorkel kits. It was my hope to provide plans and kits for a universal snorkel system that would be fairly standardized. It appears that this is not possible. As a result, we will be writing the plans specifically to include both 4.0L and 2.5L fuel-injected YJ Wranglers only. Sorry CJ and TJ owners, it may take some time to get to you.
